Widow's Program
Currently DHR sponsors 42 widows from the ages of 60 and over. The widows program spans over several different districts currently focused around Aboket, Uganda.
New incoming widows first receive a mattress and bedsheets to lift them off the ground for the first time ever.
In addition to this they also regularly receive laundry soap, salt, sugar, cooking oil,
and rice.
We currently partner with a local pastor, and together with our Chief Operating Officer, they regularly check on each widow.
DHR strives to supplement basic needs—food and clothing—while working toward the long-term goal of addressing safe shelter needs.
